About

Hi, my name is Thomas M. Vestly. I run Enkélweb, a company that specializes in event videography. We make video productions of events such as anniversary, concert, show, party, festival and wedding. Video recording is one part of video production, editing or post-production is another. Designing DVD covers and the print that goes on the surface of discs is yet another part of the process towards the final product. Burning discs, making print outs, cropping and packaging for shipment is also part of the work.

I was born in 1976 in Oslo, Norway. My formal education is in social sciences and IT from the University of Oslo. During the 90s I video recorded a few weddings for family. I also video recorded a few events for JVP, my dad's event management company (www.jvp.no). I am to some extent self-taught in video production, through self-study of books, practice, trial and error. But I've also received good advice from my dad Jo Vestly who was TV-producer in the Norwegian Broadcasting Corporation (NRK) during the 70s and 80s. He introduced me to cameras in the early 80s when I learned how to operate the family's Super-8 film camera. Later I used Super-VHS and Hi8 until DV was introduced in the mid-90s.

Since spring 2008 I have made video streams for Internet in addition to DVDs in co-operation with a few different organizers. For projects that require more than one person such as multicamera operations, I bring in extra crew.

I have a license for Adobe Premiere Pro CS3, a professional video editing program.

Our primary camera types are the Sony VX2100 and PD150 that we use together with Manfrotto tripods, video lights, external microphones and other accessories:
